Benzodiazepines are a class of drug mostly used for anxiety, tranquillizers known under names like diazepam, valium and xanax. Because they are so widely abused, benzodiazepines are nowadays checked for in drug tests.
So you, like loads of other people, are going to be wondering how to flush benzodiazepines out of your system.
Which means you need information to help you get around this problem.
But there is good news and bad news about passing a benzo drug test, depending on which saw you have to take, so let’s get to it and help make sure that you’re not one of the poor suckers who gets caught out.
Benzodiazepines: Drug Test Detection Time
How long benzo stays in your system will depend on several things:
- Your lifestyle
- Frequency of benzodiazepine consumption
- Amount of benzodiazepines taken
- Your metabolism
- How much you drink
When it comes to a standard drug test, you will find that this is usually a five panel urine sample test. In rarer circumstances it could be a mouth swab, or a hair test.
It is highly unlikely you will have a blood drug test for benzodiazepines. This is because benzo is usually only detectable in blood for around 24 hours, making it an unreliable detection method.
Drug test detection times for benzodiazepines are:
- In blood: 24-36 hours
- In saliva: Up to 48 hours
- In urine: Up to a week
- In hair: Up to 90 days
But you can’t gamble on trusting these times, because everybody is different. The only way you can be sure of passing a benzodiazepines drug test is to take countermeasures to prevent detection.
So How Long Is Benzo In Urine For?
As we have just said, benzo in urine is detectable for up to a week. This can vary between a couple of days and sometimes longer than a week, depending on who the person is.
So the bottom line here is if you have taken anything containing benzodiazepine within the past 10 days, and you don’t have a prescription to show it has been legally administered, then your only route through a drug test is to avoid detection.
What Sort Of Benzo Drug Test Is Done?
A benzo drug test in most cases is a simple six panel urine drug test.
The six panel drug test is done by a lab with a urine sample, and it aims to detect:
You should be aware generally that drug tests go from a four panel test all the way through to a 13 panel test. Although the high numbers are not common, five panel drug tests being the most common, a lot of companies do use a six panel test to pick up on tranquilizer use.
So the first thing you need to do is to know which type of drug test you are having done. If you are definitely having a five panel drug test then you will be fine, but if it is above that, or you simply cannot find out, then you need to learn how to avoid detection.
How To Flush Benzodiazepines Out Of Your System | Pass A Benzo Drug Test
So now you know that if you are taking a drug test there is a good chance you could be screened for benzo use.
Which means you have to take countermeasures to ensure you are not detected. These will depend on the type of drug test test you are taking:
- Blood test.
Highly unlikely to be done, because of the short time benzo can be detected in the sample. The best countermeasure is to simply avoid the test for 24 hours. Call in sick and ask to go in a day later.
- Saliva test.
The best way to counteract a saliva drug test for benzodiazepine is to wash your mouth out with Listerine several times a day in the days leading up to the test. On top of that, brush your teeth three or four times the day before, and on the day as well.
If you want to be 100% safe, you should also use Oral Clear saliva neutralizing gum just before you go into the test. It will clean toxins out of your saliva for up to 30 minutes. You can read my review here.
- Hair test.
This is a tough one to pass. Any drug is detectable in hair for up to 90 days during a standard sample drug test. This is a huge problem and one that is only really solvable by using the Macujo method. This is a way of opening up the hair and cleaning each strand to remove toxins.
It’s intrusive and has to be done right, but it works. You can read a tutorial on the macujo method here.
- Urine test.
The test to detect benzo in urine is the most common type of drug test. To avoid detection, you have two options:
- A) Use a high quality fake urine. Synthetic urine can be submitted as your sample if it is an unsupervised urine test. You should only trust two brands really, Sub Solution and Quick Fix. These contain the right ingredients to be passed as real urine samples. On top of that, they come with options to warm them to body temperature.
- B) If you are really uncomfortable with the idea of carrying a fake urine sample to the lab and submitting it, then your only option is to use a high quality detox drink like Rescue Cleanse or Mega Clean.
- C) For real, permanent detox (not just masking), use Toxin Rid detox pills. It takes 4-7 days to completely flush benzos out of your system (click for my Toxin Rid review).
Using these a few hours before your test will mask the toxins of all detectable drugs. You have to make sure you only use a high-quality detox drink, you must follow the instructions exactly, and you must submit your sample within the small window these drinks offer you, usually around five hours after consumption.
So there you go. It is totally possible to flush benzodiazepines out of your system to pass a benzo drug test.
But you have to get educated, use the right tools and be smart. On top of that, stop taking whatever it is you’re taking a soon as you are aware of the drug test so that you can maximize your chances of the countermeasures you take working.
