Busy CSULB President Jane Close Conoley, who officially began her duties at California State University, Long Beach on July 15, will kick off her first CSULB fall semester with Convocation 2014 at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center, beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 22. There will be a reception for Conoley immediately following Convocation. The next day, Saturday, Aug. 23, she will take part in the Move-In Day as 2,700 students take their place in the Parkside, Hillside and Beachside residence halls.
St. Anthony High School, Long Beach’s only Catholic high school, proudly unveils the complete renovation of their Science Building, including three labs (chemistry, biology, physics/technology), five classrooms, meeting space and a commercial-grade prep kitchen. Other renovations include the baseball field, the Arbor in the Courtyard to provide seating and shade, and a new Chapel that welcomes Fr. Raymond Marquez, the high school’s newest faculty member. Students heading back to Cerritos College for the fall semester will see several new additions all around campus. The College’s newly opened Liberal Arts and Disabled Student Programs & Services Building upgraded the campus landscape. Students can choose innovative new courses such as a new product development class featuring a 3D printer and scanner. There are several new food services on campus offering healthy food options.
