Community Forum

On Saturday, July 26, Khmer Rouge survivors and the public are invited to attend a community forum to learn about the upcoming judgment against the senior leaders of the Khmer Rouge regime in Phnom Penh. The forum, co-hosted by the Applied Social Research Institute of Cambodia, Incorporated and the Center for Justice & Accountability, will be held at 3 p.m. at the Khmer Arts Academy, 1364 Obispo Ave., Suite 156, Long Beach. Golf Tourney

The nonprofit charity Help Me Help You will host their 5th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Saturday, July 26, at the Lakewood Country Club Golf Course. The tournament will kick off with registration at 10 a.m. and putting games at 11 a.m. Tee off is at 12 noon. The event will benefit Help Me Help You’s Food Pantry Programs. Straight Talk

Chris Wing, president & CEO of SCAN Health Plan, is the next Straight Talk guest. Running on Empty

As California faces one of the most severe droughts on record, KNX 1070 Newsradio will present a comprehensive examination of the region’s current water emergency in a day-long series entitled, “Running on Empty: Our Epic Drought,” to air on Thursday, July 31, from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.

KNX 1070’s award-winning news staff, led by producers Charles Feldman and Laraine Herman, will look at the impact the worsening drought will have on our lives far beyond washing our cars, watering our lawns and putting our skis in storage.
