From Issue: Volume XXII - Number 12
Jennifer Hagle, Aquarium Board director and partner at Sidley Austin LLP, was honored this month with two awards for her work in the field of law. She received the “Mentoring: Private Practice Lawyer of the Year” award at the third annual Chambers USA Women in Law Awards and was named one of the Top Women Lawyers of the Year by the Daily Journal.
Hagle is a transactional bankruptcy lawyer with more than twenty-five years of experience representing clients in bankruptcy and out-of-court restructurings. She is a member of the Executive Committee, firmwide co-chair of the Recruiting Committee, and firmwide co-chair of the Committee of Retention and Promotion of Women.
“Jennifer serves as an inspiration to many through her ongoing commitment to serving clients and her dedication to mentoring up-and-coming lawyers who greatly benefit from her more than 25 years of legal experience,” said Mike Kelley, managing partner of Sidley’s Los Angeles office and member of the firm’s Executive Committee. “She also demonstrates through action how important community involvement is, and this combination of factors makes her highly deserving of these recognitions. We are very proud of Jennifer and her many achievements.”
Hagle has served on the Aquarium’s Board of Directors since 2000 and is a member of the Pacific Circle, the Aquarium’s leadership gift society. She is the Board secretary and has also served on the executive committee, chaired the human resources compensation committee, and co-chaired the committee planning the Aquarium’s annual gala. She also served on the search committee that hired Aquarium President and CEO Dr. Jerry R. Schubel. Hagle helped to develop the Board’s corporate structure, protocols, and procedures, including its corporate charter and bylaws, and was also involved in establishing the Aquarium’s ongoing relationship with the City of Long Beach.
“The Aquarium benefits greatly from Jennifer’s expertise and dedication to our mission and vision. These awards affirm her strong commitment to service and the business acumen and the broad knowledge base she brings to companies and organizations she is involved in. I want to congratulate Jennifer on her ongoing achievements,” said Jerry Schubel, president and CEO, Aquarium of the Pacific.
