The Long Beach Health Department, in collaboration with the Long Beach Alliance for Children with Asthma, The Children’s Clinic, St. Mary Medical Center and Miller Children’s Hospital, will be holding the Long Beach Asthma Resource Fair on Saturday, May 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Admiral Kidd Park in Long Beach. Long Beach Memorial is hosting a “Have the Conversation” End-of-Life Communication Workshop Tuesday, June 3, 5:30-8:30 p.m. If you or a loved one needs help communicating wishes for end-of-life care with your family, the Long Beach Memorial spiritual care team can help you get the conversation started. Diabetes Class – Join Community Hospital Long Beach for a three-week diabetes education class beginning June 4 led by Linda Basile, RN, certified diabetes educator, Community Hospital Long Beach. Sidewalk CPR – In honor of National CPR Week, Long Beach Memorial and the American Heart Association are collaborating with the Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services Agency, to teach Hands-Only CPR to the community on Thursday, June 5, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Home Depot, 751 E. Spring. St. Hands-Only CPR can help save someone’s life while waiting for first responders. Participants will not become CPR certified, but information on how to get certified will be available. Casa Colina’s Land Meets Sea Sports Camp will be held August 6 – 8, in Long Beach at the Marine Stadium and other sites in the area. The camp introduces adaptive water, land, recreation and competitive sports to people of all ages with physical disabilities.
