Easter Bunny Photos
Long Beach Towne Center welcomes the Easter Bunny on the Food Court Patio for photo opportunities through tomorrow. Free balloon art and face painting will be available for children and families to enjoy today and tomorrow from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. Long Beach Towne Center at 7575 Carson Blvd. is pleased to provide a fun, family-friendly environment for the local community to enjoy during the spring and Easter season.
Come join over 200 people to clean the Los Cerritos Wetlands on Saturday, April 26th from 8 a.m. to noon. We will congregate at the entrance to the wetlands at PCH and 1st St. in Seal Beach. The Los Cerritos Wetlands Trust will provide us with tools and bags to pick up the weeds and trash. Organizers will provide water and snack bars for the participants. Be sure to bring gloves, a hat and sunscreen to join us in helping to preserve this beautiful oasis!

The Long Beach Fire Department’s Marine Safety Division will once again sponsor the Junior Lifeguard Program from June 23 to August 1. It offers students nine to 17 years of age the opportunity to receive instruction in Lifeguard rescue techniques, emergency medical first-aid, ocean sports activity, physical conditioning, marine ecology and public service.
Tryouts are held at the Belmont Plaza Outdoor Pool on Friday, May 2, 6-8 p.m. and Saturdays, April 19 and May 10, 8-10 a.m. For more information call (562) 570-8550 or email LBJG@longbeach.gov.
For The Child
On May 1, For The Child is hosting its 13th Annual Circle of Friends breakfast. The “Protecting Innocence” celebration will feature a retrospective of For The Child’s accomplishments over the last 40 years. The breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 9 a.m. at the Long Beach Hilton Hotel Ballroom. Since 1974 For The Child has been strengthening families and making a difference in the lives of children who have faced abuse or neglect.

Catch a glimpse of the many birds that live in the wetlands in Long Beach. Ecologists will lead a nature walk on Saturday, May 3, 8-10 a.m. Learn about how the wetlands are being acquired and restored and the cooperation with businesses and the City of Long Beach.
