Join Long Beach Heritage for the 2014 Loft Walk of the Walker Building and Big Red Bus Tour of Art Deco Downtown Long Beach to be held on Saturday, April 5. The evening begins with light hosted appetizers, moves on to an Art Deco Tour of Downtown Long Beach on the Big Red Bus with noted Art Deco historian John Thomas, followed by access to the lofts in the Walker building, and ends with hosted wine and appetizers at the Federal Bar’s Art Deco ex-speakeasy.

Celebrate 40 years of Cars and Class while supporting Long Beach charities at the Grand Prix Foundation Charity Gala to be held Friday, April 11, at the Westin Long Beach Hotel. Join racing and community celebrities for an elegant, fun-filled evening. Racing legend Mario Andretti, this year’s Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach Grand Marshall, is scheduled to appear.
The Gala begins at 6 p.m. with hosted cocktails and a silent auction. Dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m. followed by a live auction of one-of-a-kind items.

In honor of the 40th Anniversary of National Volunteer Week, Rancho Los Alamitos will be presenting a Volunteer Recruitment Program on Saturday, April 12 from 10 a.m. until noon. Guests should plan to arrive between 10 and 10:30 a.m. to learn about the Rancho’s volunteer opportunities, tour the Rancho, talk to members of the volunteer committees and enjoy light refreshments. Volunteers bring the Rancho to life through their creative efforts. There are six volunteer service areas at Rancho Los Alamitos including curatorial, docent tours and school programs, gardens, hospitality, office and administration and special events and public programs. Each of the volunteer service areas at the Rancho offers a variety of associated opportunities, time commitments, and training to suit the particular interests and needs of its participants.
