The California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) LifeFit Center, a health and fitness facility for people age 50 years and older, will expand hours of operation to include Saturdays beginning on January 4, 2014.
The center opened in October 2012, and started with limited hours of operation Monday through Friday. The center now will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday starting Jan. 4.
“I am so pleased with the community that we have created at the LifeFit Center. The members, staff, and interns are all committed to an environment that promotes holistic wellness and a lifelong commitment to health and fitness,” said Ayla Donlin, director of the center.
In its first year the center has grown to more than 250 members. The center’s first year’s accomplishments include expanded programming such as “Strength For Living,” a 16-week comprehensive, small group personal training program for six to eight people.
The LifeFit Center offers a variety of programs and services including: group fitness classes, equipment orientations, fitness/balance assessments, personal training, and has designated parking for members. Its web address is http://www.csulb.edu/colleges/chhs/lifefit/.
