FRANK CORRIGAN, in purple, leads Mohamed Fadil, in turquoise, by only a few steps as the two leaders of the Long Beach Marathon pass by Rosie’s Dog Beach in Belmont Shore on Sunday, Oct. 13. Fadil and Corrigan traded off leading the race several times before Fadil eventually fell back on Ocean Boulevard in the last few miles of the marathon. Corrigan finished 3 minutes, 33 seconds before Fadil. The marathon’s 26.2 mile route snaked its way from Shoreline Village to the Queen Mary, along the beach bike path and around CSULB before returning to Shoreline Village.
