Kafe Neo Celebrates 6-Year Anniversary
From Issue: Volume XXI - Number 21
Locally owned Kafe Neo is celebrating its six year anniversary this October. Opening up officially on Oct. 17, 2007, Kafe Neo helped the revitalization and expansion of the now ever so popular Retro Row District.
To celebrate this milestone, the owners will be taking a more personal approach to thanking its customers.
“Last year we had a big block party with a live band, but this year we want to really just personally thank our customers, buying desert and bottles of wine for a lot of our regulars will be the norm this week” says owner Pete Sverkos.
Created by lifelong Long Beach residents Gus and Pete Sverkos, the new, modern-styled restaurant now stands in the location where their father operated the The Carriage Shop on the corner of 4th and Temple. Kafe Neo opened in the midst of the economic recession. From a single page menu and 3 employees, the restaurant now has expanded its menu three times and has over 20 employees.
Kafe Neo is part of the popular Retro Row. With many boutiques and restaurants, this district has blossomed over the past 7 years. Situated between Cherry and Temple on 4th St., Retro Row has been featured in New York Times Travel and is drawing more and more people from outside of Long Beach.
