The Lakewood Artist Fall Open Art Show and awards program is accepting entries Friday, Oct. 11, 5-7 p.m., through Saturday Oct. 12, 9-11 a.m. with the show on Sunday, October 13 at Palms Park. Entries can range from ages 5 to adult. All media is accepted from beginners to professionals. Michael Humphries will be judging. St. Luke’s Lutheran Church presents nationally-known vocalist Becky Martin in concert at the first ever St. Luke’s Music Fest on Saturday, Oct. 13. The free, outdoor, 2-5 p.m. event is open to the public and will feature local acts Sycamore Creek, Empty Number Seven, Ryan Ferrari, and the St. Luke’s Praise Band. Dave Chappelle is back with his first high profile stand up tour in some time. The comedian/actor will take the stage at the Terrace Theater on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. Chappelle has become one of the most distinctive voices in comedy with his brand of no-holds-barred humor on race, class, and pop culture. MOLAA – As a part of their Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration, the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) at 628 Alamitos Ave. will present the documentary film, “The Feast of the Souls” (“Lanii Xtee Tugul”) on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. Admission is free, sponsored by Target.
